I was at a friends house. I was talking to his mum.
All the walls of the house were painted a pinkish/orange - apricot - color. We were
playing Iron Maiden heavy metal music in his bedroom. (we're both fans).
My friend decided to take up an offer made
by Laine and Luke, a couple we know, to come along to a resturant and he asked me to come
with him.
I was at the resturant and noticed it was full of extremely rich people.
There was a strange part of the resturant where the floor had dropped about four stories, creating two split levels with a carpeted floor at the bottom.
This was called "The Death Drop", by those who frequented the resturant.
Whoever fell over this edge usually died.
My friend and I chose the table closest to "The Death Drop".
We played a game where we pretended to kill dragons, using the dinner knives as swords and
cutting up the green wax candles which were on the table as if these were the fire-breathing dragons.
I heard shocked female gasps near the fount door to the resturant and turned to see Brad, the man I wanted to be with, walk in.
He had tight black jeans on, a
black wind-cheater and a can of beer in one hand. He walked 'zombie-like' over to my friend and I.
He walked between the tables to stand at the very edge of "The Death Drop".
I turned to face him.
"Hello Brad" I said.
He said nothing, he did not even look at me.
"Come sit down" I offered, trying to pull him over to the seat next to me. He looked at me with a lost sort of smile, "I'm going" he said.
"No" I cried, trying to grab at him as he took one step more and fell down "The Death Drop".
I looked over the edge to see him land perfectly on his feet and keep on walking. Then a 2nd figure flashed past me. It was Carolyn, my best friend for 13 years.
"Carolyn" I screamed, as she also steped over the edge.
But she too also landed on her feet like a cat and kept walking.
"I'm going after them" I told my friend who was still sitting at the table with me. Without looking at him, I stood up.
"Rebekah, stay here" he said firmly.
But I stood away from the table and looked
over.
"If they can do it so can I" I said outloud. I stepped over the edge.
The next thing I knew I was flat on my back, with Brad and Carolyn holding each of my arms.
They were trying to drag me somewhere.
"Hey" I moaned.
Brad let my arm drop and asked Carolyn to do the same.
My head thumped on the ground as they let me go.
"I can carry her" Brad offered to Carolyn. Carolyn smiled and said "Yeah, that would help".
She then laughed.
"But I'm not dead" I protested, still unable to move. My body would not move and I could not sit up or do anything.
"They think I'm dead" I said to myself.
There were stairs back up to the top level where the resturant was.
As I looked around, I noticed that down here was also set up like a resturant but no person was down here except for Carolyn, Brad and I.
Paintings of houses in the country hung all over the walls in crystal-white frames.
I remember both Carolyn and Brad trying once again to carry me, then
