I had a series of dreams overnight, but could only remember a few details. Early in the first dream, I was inside a temple-like building. I think I may have been on a school trip to Egypt or somehwere similar. We (myself and whoever else I was with-- tour guide, group, etc.) were standing on an interior second- or third-floor balcony looking down at the temple floor-- which was covered in deep piles of golden sand. I believe they were in the process of restoring the temple, although none of the workers were in it at the time we were there.
The group left behind me and I decided to head down an interior spiral staircase to the temple floor, where I could get a handful of sand as a souvenir. After grabbing a handful of the unusually diamond-like golden sand, I started heading back up the stairs. While on my way back up, I remembered the legend about someone who had tried to take some sand out of the temple. He supposedly thought it would make him forever young, but the doors to the temple sealed themselves and trapped him inside when he tried to leave with the sand (this is not an actual legend-- it was conjured up within my dream).
Upon remembering the legend, I dumped my handful of sand-- but to no avail. The two sets of doors at the top of the stairs sealed in front of me with only a thin line running down the center of each set. I could see light leaking in from the outside.
The next part of the dream I can remember involved me stealing an automobile that was similar to a mail Jeep. Whoever owned the bare-bones vehicle (the pedals were bare metal and the "Jeep" looked like it had been assembled from random parts of other vehicles) had left it running in an alley outside a wooden fence while making some kind of delivery. I hopped in the "Jeep" and drove off in it in order to make my friends (or whoever it was that had been with me) laugh.
After heading off down a dirt road in the middle of town (whatever town I was in), I left the "Jeep" behind and started walking. I remember passing some telephone poles and aging bridges. I decided to lay down sleep under a patch of trees where there was a pile of stuff on the ground. I pulled a makeshift blanket over myself and tried to get comfortable.
I was laying on my back, glancing up at the sky. I saw something hovering around in the air above me. It looked like a pair of black binoculars gliding around about 40 feet high or so. They would stop occasionally and point in one direction for awhile before hovering around again. I remember thinking that the binocular-like device was being used by the government for some kind of surveillance. Just then the binoculars stopped high in the air above me and pointed down at me. They started falling toward me at a high rate of speed. When they were about five feet from my face, I said, "Hey, Marine Corps!" I then woke up from the dream.
