Well, I have had two experiences with this phenomenon. The first was not too interesting except for three things; one, it occured immediately after the Voyager episode involving collective dreaming and lucid dreams, two, i got inspiration for a form of dishwasher; and three, i got about a meter off the ground.
My second experience, I had more recently and it was just plain odd. I realized i was dreaming and a moment later I woke up very sudenly in the gym of St. John the Divine Cathedral. A minute or so later (by my experience) I woke up in my room. I got back from that trip a couple weeks ago.
