Last night I turned on the air conditioner before I went to sleep. Usually I sleep without it, but the night was sticky, humid, wet, and the mosquitoes were out with a vengence. At first it was lovely: cool relief and finally, some sleep! But as the night wore on, it got colder. And colder. And then there was the constant chugging machinery noises of the air conditioner's motor, working away directly above my head. As a result, I dreamt that I was in a giant empty slushy machine. The blades of the machine were spinning around me and I was getting pushed through the machine, running from the blades, and feeling completely ridiculously small. The noise of the machinery was deafening, and it was freezing in there! I woke up and sheepishly turned the air conditioner off.
