In a little house with purple, almost fushia, walls out of a children's book written and illustrated in the 70's there was a little black girl who lived with her grandfather who cared for her very much. One day she was playing with balloons in the hallway when you realize she's a vampire since she can fly up to the very high ceilings to reach the balloons which had floated away.
Eventually 3 white boys came to hunt her down. There was lots of talking and candy tossing as bribery. Then they were able to catch her off guard and trapped her in a mirror which they then promptly smashed in order to destroy her. Her grandfather scared the boys away and put the shards into a dark room with the windows open. He knew secretly about her condition, but since she had said nothing, so did he.
ANALYSIS:
the dream strongly reminds me of the old books you'd see in a children's library where the colors of the pictures were in those strange shades of purple, green, gray, etc. the little black girl was the color of black, but became more realistic as the dream went on.
there were chase scenes and tension between the boys and the little vamp girl, but it is lost from memory. it was a very complex story with the boys, the girl and the grandfather. almost makes me want to write a story, or find if there already is one out there.
