In a dream I found Lan's new site, and it was the most beautiful, creative and innovative journal site I'd ever seen. The screen was multilayered in a collage which measured ten times the screen width, and scrolled right as the graphics loaded (though you could control the speed by holding the scroll button). There were little poems, paragraphs from a journal, and sound clips. One was streaming radio with he and his girlfriend acting as DJs. There were three layers to the site, with tabs for each in the far right bottom corner, and as you clicked a tab it removed some of the visual layers from the top level and replaced it with other images. There were painterly collages, photo scans, and layered textures and colours. The text items were framed like sideways org charts. The text layers were updated daily, as a true journal. I wanted to nominate it for Best Use of Multimedia but the award period was over. Then I woke up and realized it was my own creation and how much I wanted to realize it, if only I had the design tools.
But at least I was able to document it here for that day in the future.
