I had been invited to a premiere of Toy Story 3. I was allowed to bring one guest, so I chose my sister. There was nothing special about the premiere; it took place in a plain old movie theater. There weren't many people there, and we had our choice of seats. We took two seats as close to the center of the theater as possible. There wasn't much else to do but count the number of seats in each row, and then the number of rows in the theater.
The theater was still half-empty when the movie started. Plus, somebody had forgotten to turn off the lights in the theater. I kept resisting the urge to complain to my sister about the whole thing; I'd felt like I had been invited to something special, but there wasa decidedly un-special atmosphere about the whole thing.
I woke up just as the previews ended and the actual movie was beginning.
