me and a large group of my old friends went out hiking. these are people that i haven't talked to since middle school, or even before. we were screwing around, didn't see the storm rolling in, and we lost track of time, before we knew it, it was dark, and it was beginning to rain.
we found an old cave, and we went in. it was dark, but somehow we all remembered flashlights. it was a huge cave. we were completely scared. everytime the lightning would flash, the entire room would light up with these bright flashes of light.
we were looking to go farther back into the cave, and we had to go down about 15 feet to the cave floor. (we were on a ledge when we first came in) we found these sort of footholds down to the floor, and so one by one they all went down the "steps"....i was the last, and i slipped. i was prolly 10 feet up still. i fell on my hands and feet, landed like a cat, but my body didn't react like a cat's...as soon as i landed i felt pain shoot up through my hands into my arms, and from my toes all the way up to the base of my spine. i cried out in pain, and nobody came for me. i lay there wondering if i had paralyzed myself. i moved my fingers on both sides, i knew i wasn't paralyzed there, but the big thing would be my legs. they were still hurting a LOT.
meredith and neha finally came over and asked me if i was alright. they helped me up and i found out that nothing was broken, i could walk just fine. erm (embarassment!) we were going to go farther into the cave, but to get to the tunnel, there was another drop, this time about 10 feet. there were a couple of tall kids, carol and nolan, and they went down first. they were like it's all muddy watch your step, and then they helped everyone else down. i had lost my shoes somehow. once again i was last, and they were able to pick me up so easily that i was kinda creepy.
when they set me down on the floor of the cave, i flashed my light at the floor, there was this reddish brown mud all over the floor. i felt it squish between my toes, and it felt so strange! i followed the rest of them deeper into the cave, and it got very very cold. there was water on the floor, it felt like ice.
it was a long tunnel, then a large room. they kept wanting to go farther back, so i just followed them. i didn't want to start anything.
every time the lightning crashed outside, we could hear the thunder rumbling towards us in this deafening echo. yea it was a neat effect, but it scared the shit out of us.
they went farther and farther back, finally it got to the point that we couldn't go any farther. everyone got really scared and people started screaming. someone saw there was a small tunnel on the edge of the room, and it was really dark over there. someone started screaming about an exorcism. i think it was stacey. everyone started laughing. i don't know if she was joking or not. someone went over there, i don't remember who it was. i think it might have been
