i was at my am. hist teacher's *mr. wheeler* house for some reason, and it was just off of 7th st. *fairly close to my house* i don't think it was really his house, just that's where it was in the dream. i told him i had to go, and he said ok i'll see you in class, and i said sure and walked out the door. the first thing i noticed was this immense column of thick black smoke and deep orange to my left about seven or eight blocks away. naturally curious i started walking in that direction. i got close to hamliton school *grade school* and there was a huge fire in the middle of the playground. there were firefighters everywhere, but they didn't notice i was there, it was like i was invisible. they were working so hard to keep it from spreading, to no avail. there was nothing to fuel this fire, no reason that it would have started in the first place. i watched it burn and grow til the whole school and all of the playground were completely immersed in flames. it was spreading into the ravine behind the school now.
i was hypnotized by the beauty of the fire. the sun went down by now, and the fire lit up the entire sky. i realized that it was getting really late, so i started home. i turn around, and i see another gigantic fire about where my house was. i started running. i got home, and it turns out this fire was in stephen's park which is only a few blocks away. i walked to the park, and i saw what was happening here. this fire was bigger than the last, but like before, there was no reason this fire should be burning like this. i was about a block away, and i realized that the entire park, the playground, the ball diamonds, the entire ravine, the huge field, the parking lot, the pavillions, the tennis courts, they were all aflame.
there were sparks flying everywhere. things would explode, and huge chunks of it would rain down like meteorites...all firey and fast. i started getting scared when one of the 'meteorites' fell on a car near me and the car exploded. i wasn't hurt though. i walked closer. i watched the flames rise high into the night sky, and i cried for the beauty of it all. i watched the trees still standing in the fire, silouettes against the firey oranges and yellows and reds. i watched the firefighters toil in vain to keep it under control. there had to have been twenty fire trucks there by now. i looked up, and i saw these very brights stars twinkling through the smoke. then the stars disappeared as the flames over took the entire sky, and arched over me and created this bubble around me.
i felt like a bug caught in the summer under a glass but i wasn't being touched by the flames at all. i was completely calm for some reason. i felt completely safe surrounded by fire. i walked towards the 'walls' of my bug prison, and i tried to walk through. there were truly walls! i walked head first into one of them. then i started getting scared. i started screaming and crying. i looked up at the top of my firecage and i thought the ceiling was slowly descending. it was. i screamed for the firefighters to come save me. they couldn't hear me, the crackling and roaring of the fire was deafening. i grabbed a piece of something that was lying on the street, and i tried to break down the firewall. it slowly started crumbling, but i thought i was getting burnt now. i was in a lot of pain. i knew i couldn't get out.
i sat down in the middle of the fire ring around me and i cried. i said all the goodbyes i could think of. i said all my apologies, i begged for forgiveness from a few people. and i just sat there, and i cried. i thought i was going to die. i watched myself lie down. i was no longer inside myself, and i was watching this part of the dream from somewhere else. i was still alive, i think maybe i was just unconcious. i heard someone scream there's a girl in there, there's a girl in there and a firefighter walked through the wall, and he saw that i was there. he ran to me and picked me up. i looked like a rag doll, completely limp in his arms. he took off my jacket, and he laid it over my face and the top part of my body. he walked through the wall that i couldn't seem to get through. he ran me down the alley to an ambulance, and i was suddenly back inside myself when they put me in. i wasn't crying anymore. i was calm again. they started asking me questions you know...what's your name? where do you live? what's your parents' names? what's your phone number? we need to call your mom or dad or someone. i answered everything.
i got to the hospital and they were working on my and stuff, and they said there's not a burn on her. i sat up and they pushed me back down on the table. but i caught a glimpse of myself and there wasn't a single burn that i could see. i thought i had been burned, it was all in my mind. they said we'll keep her overnight just to make sure she's alright. they checked me in and took me to my room. my mom never came to the hospital. i slept very peacefully. around what must have been three in the morning, a nurse came in, and someone snuck in behind her and hid themselves behind the door. the nurse left and shut the door behind her. there was a small light left on next to my bed. whoever it was walked out of the shadows and sat down next to me on the bed. it was *ooh surprise here*
