Apparently, Terrence Mann was coming to talk to/perform for a group of drama students at my school. Well, I'm guessing that it was open to everybody, but no one was interested except those studying drama. None of them knew who Terrence Mann was, of course, which pissed me off greatly in the dream. I had to go see him, naturally, so I got my friend April to come with me. We met up with the group in the drama room. No one seemed to notice that I was there (either that, or nobody cared). They were watching a compliation tape that someone on a mailing list for "The Scarlet Pimpernel" had made "back in the day" and were attempting to familiarize themselves with the man before they met him.
The next thing I knew, the drama teacher and some men were waving their hands in front of a doorway draped with a black curtain that had materialized in the back of the classroom. I guessed that meant Terry was about to appear. Sure enough, he came out. It was very dark by that door, for some reason, and difficult for me to see him.
Suddenly, we were all in the rather crowded courtyard of my mom's hospital (which, in actuality, does not have a courtyard), which leads me to believe that this was some sort of a benefit. I could clearly see Terry now, and he looked nothing like himself. He had unhealthily tan, leathery skin, a scruffy white beard and long, tangled white hair. He didn't even look or sound like himself. He looked a lot like Jon Voight, actually.
He was performing a variety of songs and telling anecdotes (although I could hear none of this, for some reason) with Bruno Pelletier. Well, I am assuming that it was Bruno. I only saw him from the back, but he surely had Bruno's hair.
I began to grow very upset and disturbed when I remembered that Holli was in town from London. Why the heck hadn't I had the sense to remember this and invite her to come with me? I felt awful. April was nowhere to be found.
I walked away from the main performance area to a deli to get something to eat. I bought two things, one of which was a plate of spanakopita. It looked divine.
By this point, I found myself holding a disposable camera with only two shots remaining on it. Definitely not enough. I decided I would go to one of the gift shops in the hospital and buy another one as soon as I finished off this roll. Terry and Bruno were circling around the courtyard, singing. I snapped a picture. Bruno didn't see this, since his back was turned to me, but Terry did...and he looked a little perturbed. I whirled around with my spanakopita and walked off somewhere.
"Somewhere" being a spot on the grass with some people. I can't remember who these people were, but we had a discussion about food, and I told them I would be buying more spanakopita for dinner that night.
